“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” Steve Jobs

We hope you had a great mentoring session n. 2 for the Reclaim Your Best Life program. If you would like to watch the call recording go here.

Talent

“Talent is always conscious of its own abundance, and does not object to sharing.”Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Talent

The twin of Passion is your Talent. While your Passions energize you and others, your Talents guide you to make the best use of your time.

Talent is what comes naturally to you and is easy to do without having to think about it. You often do it quickly and without effort.

It may be that it comes so easily to you that you don’t even notice it or you think of it as nothing special.
Talent is your gift to others. Like a precious diamond in its natural state, we often see our talent as rough or ordinary, whilst others recognize its inherent brilliance and know our talent is invaluable.

Paradoxically, what may seem like nothing to you may be everything to someone else. Actually, a “talent” was originally a unit of money, something valuable that could be exchanged and traded. Equally today, everyone has some talent that can be used as a currency of exchange.

Talent Files

Discovering and using your talents is the second aspect of the relationship between You and You and allows you to find the path of least resistance to expressing your talent and experience your natural flow.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
Calvin Coolidge

Knowledge

“If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.” Benjamin Franklin

Knowledge & Experience

Whilst you discover or reconnect to your talents and passions that are inside of you, you acquire and build your KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE over time.

All the knowledge, skill and experience you gained over time allows you to expand on your talents and passions, and let them be more alive and shining. And also more valuable. Yet so often we don’t invest our time and energy deliberately and try to gain experience or acquire new knowledge and skills in areas that have nothing to do with our talents and passion.

It does take time and focus to build your knowledge and experience base. Therefore, if you become an expert in any area or domain, it makes sense that it is aligned with and develops your passion and talent.

Knowledge Files

You acquire knowledge and experience either through education, self-study or direct experience. As you do that, these become areas where you become proficient and other people start viewing you as an expert and person to go to when they need help, advice or a problem to be solved. Where are you knowledgeable and experienced you become respected as an authority and valued for what you can bring to the table.

“I am not a genius. I am just a tremendous bundle of experience.” Buckminster Fuller

Network & Relationships

“Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family: Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” Jane Howard

Building Your Network & Relationships

Like with your knowledge and experience, whilst you discover or reconnect to your talents and passions that are inside of you, you build your NETWORK & RELATIONSHIPS  over time.

There are three elements that distinguish a great network. The first one is the quality of people inside your network. The second one is the frequency of your interactions. The more you interact with people in your network the stronger are the connections, the more trust you build. The third one is the quality of your interactions or conversations. You may talk about the weather or you can converse about inspiring ideas, discuss potential projects, exchange resources, information, or advice.

For you to build a flourishing and trusting network of relationships, you will need to invest time to grow and nurture it.

Network Files

Your network is not just a pile of business cards you have in your drawer or file. It is the number of people you know and who know you. And the trust and quality of relationships you have with them.

The more you want to have a fulfilled and happy life where you’re really integrated and you are making a difference, the bigger the network and the higher the quality of your network needs to be. You cannot live life on your own.

The network you will build needs to be around your passions. The more you have people of same passion around you, the more resources, the more opportunities, the more finances and information you attract. These are the people with whom you can naturally collaborate.

“I am not a genius. I am just a tremendous bundle of experience.” Buckminster Fuller
